I was pleasantly surprised by this remake of the classic Disney film. The stunning visuals are full of people of colour, polite feminism and somehow, an even more coherent plot than the original film. Despite what some may say, this live-action version also answers the question of what happened to the Genie after he left Aladdin's service, which had personally perplexed me as a child. If you want the magic of Disney, the humour of Robin Williams reborn and the spectacle of Agrabah, buy the film.

While people pan the film for it's oddball humour, The Animal's lead does not fail to deliver realistic yet wild hijinks which he takes head-on and attempts to overcome as he goes through a strange transformation. While it's not about werewolves, many will enjoy the lycanthropic and canine jokes made throughout the film. However, if jokes about bestiality are too much for you, maybe give this one a miss. (There are human relationships too of course so don't show this film to anyone under 15!) I watched this on VCR at age 12 and I still remember it as a great comedy for the more adult sense of humour.

Despite hatred of the newer films due to the inability to appreciate modern technology and a mixture of dark and light-hearted humour, TFA has been a great rapport for new fans, as it has the hilarity, creativity and euphoria the original film series contained, as well as the potential for romance in the prequels.
