Unfairly compared inferior by some to 'Fargo' - even before release - due to it's slight similarities being a snow-covered crime tragedy, this is easily director Sam Raimi's best non-horror outing. Superb chemistry between the late Bill Paxton & Billy Bob Thornton, dashes of dark humor & a subtle Danny Elfman score aids the terrific script which leads to it's heartbreaking finale. You'll need tissues for sure & later think twice about coming across lost riches ....

Adding depth, energy & infectious wit to an absurd plot-line, director John Woo's best Stateside offering still holds up to this day. Travolta & Cage milk every drop of each other's charisma & gestures while the action/stuntwork ranks among Hollywood's finest with barely any distracting CGI in sight. They don't make 'em like this anymore!

One of Sam Raimi's most underrated offerings, this combo of horror tragedy & superhero romp was a clear, early effort that signaled his pre-Spidey talents. Liam Neeson leads a terrific cast that play out the theatrics with commendably straight faces. The action set-pieces are inspired & Danny Elfman provides one of his best old-school scores fresh off his big break from '89's 'Batman'. A must for any fan of Raimi's eccentric works :)

Despite the absence of the Zucker's, this is still a terrific sequel that doesn't suffer from the curse of 'threequel-itis'. The late, great Leslie Nielsen is on effortless comedic form yet again aiding the non-stop verbal & visual hilarity. These movies never fail to make me smile! :)
