Thank all that is holy that my husband talked me out of renting this atrocity for $20. I was so excited to finally see it on netflix, but wow. It was so not funny. I don’t think I even smiled once. J-law’s character is super unlikable. I can’t imagine the roles being reversed and anyone thinking it was appropriate (19 yr old nerd girl with hot player who is 32), but more than that it was just sooo poorly written. Maybe this is the result of the writers strike. The whole time I kept saying, “This feels like it was written by a man.” I was right. It was an out of touch experience for sure.

I really enjoy this show. I am a huge fan of Survivor and haven’t found a show that is entertaining on a similar level until this one! It’s way more intense and interesting seeing the different participants’ survival. My only complaint: In the first season all participants were white males and I did a hard eye roll. I must not have been the only one because by season 2 a more diverse cast is featured.
