A pretty interesting scifi idea, and a raft of excellent performances. Simmons is amazing as two very different characters. However…. the plot is unnecessarily dark (thematically) and convoluted. The sex is gratuitous and some of the violence is actually silly. It’s another unfortunate example of “let’s look backward through a keyhole” story telling. Ok for soap operas, but tiring in scifi. I can understand the cancellation after two high-budget seasons.
