It’s impossible to rate this movie accurately because it had to undo, rectify, or justify a lot of decisions made in the terrible The Last Jedi. The Rise of Skywalker struck me as two movies trying to fit into one movie’s timeframe. Many plot points were rushed by using convenient coincidences instead of logically building to conclusions. Emotions were forced on us using established connections from previous movies without really developing characters or worse... pretending to kill a character only to have them return minutes later. I’ll always wonder what might have been. Force Awakens set up so many good plot lines and created characters, genuinely developed so that the audience connected with each one. To be honest, I didn’t even recognize Finn or Poe by the third movie as their personalities had strayed in such illogical directions.
