The book is all about true love.. though it is tragic the reader could feel all the emotions of Martha and Hans.. It is very rare to have love for one who is apart for more than 50 years.. the story is slow and steady with bunch of knots. And knots keep revealing until last page of the book.. it is worth spending time and feeling the emotions of the characters.
