I began watching the movie with high hopes. I had heard the story beforehand and I took a look at the casts list; so was ready to witness a classic inspiring picture. Quite frankly, I got disappointed from the beginning. Storyline crossed the boundary into cliche pretty quickly and I could guess most scenes easily. Unfortunately the lousy performance of the lead actress did not help. She was slow and artificial most of the time and altogether not believable. The dialogs weren't strong enough for an inspiring movie; although the emotional conversations were better. What I did not expect was unbelievably great performance of the lead actor!! Jaden Smith showcased in a brilliant manner that acting genes are running strongly in Smith family. He was very believable, authentic and purely dedicated. The final third of the film got much better; given the semi-deep emotions I got from it and the scene Jaden performed well.
In a nut shell, the movie was a cliche (and not even a good one) but Jaden Smith stood out for his great performance.
