Netflix Virgin River is a good show, I really enjoy it. However, Mel constantly refers to herself as a nurse. She is not only a nurse, she is a NURSE PRACTITIONER! As a Nurse Practitioner myself, we worked HARD for that degree and to use that title. While we are all still registered nurses and I would wager most, if not all, are still nurses at heart, we identify as Nurse Practitioners. This may seem trivial or petty, and by NO MEANS am I disparaging nurses. I love and respect my nurse friends and colleagues greatly! But, Mel (Alexandra Breckinridge) and I are not just nurses, we are Nurse Practitioners. #nursepractitioner #AlexandraBreckenridge #virginriver
