A lot of critics were so harsh with this movie saying that it was too boring, but I'm afraid that I am in disagreement. There was ever a dull moment, every scene helped me develop feelings for these characters (which were people) and even some of the bad guys such as the Lieutenant (It can be argued that the confederate soldiers weren't bad guys but from the point of view from our protagonist, they are the antagonists). The film covered some horrific scenes of war and even the reconstruction of the south, all the while tearing at my heart as our protagonists made it to the end.
