After the 1st episode, I was not looking forward to the rest… although, I did think it got better and ended up worth the watch. For a show called “That 90s show” I thought there would be more 90s relevance. They try for a few references here and there (a Green Day shirt, an attempt at classic soda 90210, a Friends reference and a few others, which I appreciated, but it didn’t have too much of a 90s feel overall. I know there has to be a focus on character stories and I’m sure there was probably licensing issues with the major companies/ products from the 90s, but I would’ve loved to see them playing Nintendo or Sega while hanging in the basement, a Gameboy here and there, some pogs, someone wearing baggy clothes, JNCOs, Bugle Boy or the bright and exotic patterns that people wore in the 90s…Again, I thought it was pretty good, but as a kid growing up throughout the 90s, I was hoping for more realistic and nostalgic.

Definitely some funny parts, but a bit over-done. Some of the comedy is very forced... Telling someone to "have a great TGIF" and then immediately following that with "enjoy your Wednesday night" while still in the middle of a school day is just dumb and an extreme stretch for a joke. The constant whining and crying on almost a daily basis by a high-school boy seems over-dramatic and is actually kind of annoying already.
