I remember the series well ! I was 9 years old in 1975 & I remember it as ''Must-watch'' TV, with the whole family looking forward to every following episode. I have not seen the show since & although I suspect nostalgically much would seem very out of date by today's standard's without CGI etc it should not be seen as a piece of fiction. Equally it should come as no real surprise that the parallels between then & now in 2020 have become so connected. I particularly remember the opening sequence. Very harrowing & the first time this form of food for thought was brought to my attention. A friend & myself would sometimes wonder what it would be like to be a survivor while out on the peaceful Sunday's we had back then with all shop's shut & next to no traffic on the road's. There have been other predictions of this So perhaps what should come as a surprise is that better prep for the prevention of such an event was not made earlier. It could be said therefore that this program was more of an original ''Progumentary'' long before ''28 Day's Later''
