The perfect blend of historical and fictional characters and events are praiseworthy in this drama. An eye-opener that would stir both patriotism and love for life. The actors portrayed their roles impeccably. I watched it mainly because I stan Jo Jung Suk, and I would say, he never disappoints. His character's (Baek Yi Kang) development was inspirational, and his thirst for change (not only for their social status and how they were viewed, but also for a better life for his fellowmen) was impressively portrayed. Just showed how great an actor he is. His chemistry with Han Ye Ri's character Song Ja In was also something to look forward to, although the romantic aspect was just secondary, since it is a historical socio-political drama. I loved how some humorous scenes were injected to the story through Yi Kang and some of the characters, though it was kept to a minimum as to not overpower the serious tone of the story. Some of the scenes could be considered too violently gruesome to watch, but since it's historically based, I'll let it pass--actual events could be worse. I still have a lot of good things to say about this drama, but I think this would be enough to promote it. I've seen it 5 times already, and still brings about the same feels as the first time I saw it. I just can't believe this was underrated...All I can say is...Loved it!🥰
