"It doesn't make sense to alienate and drive away a large portion of your fanbase to double down on a portion that's not going anywhere."
I loved Yu-Gi-Oh season 0, immensely actually. Loved the original series, even loved vrains recently. Sevens is not good and I really tried. Too childish, boring and bland. There's no soul here and no passion in the writing, story, or character design. It feels so horribly pandering that I couldn't get past a handful of episodes. It's trying too hard and not trying hard enough all in one. They're driving away their older fanbase with this direction they're going, and it seems they've forgotten just how many teen and adult fans they have. (Or had.)
I'm actually pretty disappointed after vrains. I didn't have the highest hopes with how vrains was rushed and wrapped up, but I expected so much more than any of this. Even the theme of sevens, this "Rush, rush go go go" is just exhausting to watch when done in such a bad and boring way. I won't be purchasing products or supporting sevens, that's for sure. Maybe their next show will be a little more grown up and they'll likely find success there with their teen and older audience. Kids will watch no matter what. To make it this childish is a poor business decision in my opinion. As stated in the beginning, it just doesn't make sense to alienate a large portion of your fanbase to double down on a portion that's not going anywhere.

Edit: oh yeah, and whatever they did to the shadow verse and animating the battles seems like a step backwards. I was very turned off from some of the cgi choices and framing of battle scenes. Just feels rushed in a bad way, with no purpose or direction other than a bare minimum Yu-Gi-Oh title vomited up for a time slot. Hire some people who actually care about the IP instead of letting it wither like this. Such a shame.
