No Spoilers! Saw this today (May 10th) and I really enjoyed it. I haven't watched the 60s films, only the 2000s ones. My only gripe with this film is the lack of character development with some of the characters. Without giving too much away, some would come and go without any background information and perhaps could have been left out since they don't add anything to the plot. Also, it was tough to connect to the storyline. I'm not sure I really understood the theme of this film. The movie did end hinting at the possibility of more movies to come so hopefully the audience will know more if they do. Otherwise, the script writer(s) dropped the ball in character and storyline development, which is a shame because those were clearly present in the other films. Regardless, this movie is enjoyable and I'd recommend. PS-There are no post credit scenes, in case you were wondering.

OMG we just watched this tonight and I"m willing and ready to leave my man for Aaron Pierre. lol He's so stinking gorgeous and ripped too. Damn!! 😜 This movie is great too. The storyline has been done before but I do like it wasn't all "hey I'm ex military so let me whoop on these asses" type of fight. It wasn't in your face which is what you expect with plots like this. What is predictable at times? Yeah somewhat. Did I care? Hell no! It's a good Saturday night chill movie to watch.

Back in 2019, during a flight from CA to my vacation destination, I settled on watching this film. Unfortunately soon after hitting play, I drifted off to sleep which is normal for me on flights and not a reflection of the move. Four years later I tried watching this movie again and glad I did. It's such a cute movie! The songs are incredible and the not so subtle message is good too. Definitely recommend.

⚠️ Spoilers alert ⚠️ This movie is a mix of The Bourne Identity, The Matrix, Avengers Infinity War rolled into one and it just one big hot mess. It doesn't work at all! It's a damn shame too bc you would think a movie directed by the same person who directed Training Day and The Equalizer (both great movies) would be good but you'd be wrong. So so wrong! The beginning of this film captures the audiences attention with a high speed chase and cool special effects. The first 10 minutes scenes are led by Dylan O'Brien who excels in action movies. But then we are introduced to Evan McCauley, played by Mark Wahlberg, and the movie goes down hill from there. Can we just all agree that Mark Wahlberg is a terrible actor? He sucks! He tries too hard to be funny with that dry sarcastic sense of humor and it doesn't work. Side note- This is now the 2nd movie I hate where Mark Wahlberg is the lead actor. The first is The Happening. Although, The Happening is my favorite guilty pleasure anytime I want a good laugh. The stupid facial expressions from all the actors are hilarious to watch and make fun of. Anyway, I suffered through sucky Marky Mark's acting in this hoping the film would get better. It did not. The premise of the movie could have been good but feel the script and plot holes were too much to make this movie even remotely believable or fun to watch. Not to mention the bad acting and overselling scenes. For example, an hour into the movie sucky Marky Mark has to be drowned in order to reset his brain (which is a ridiculous idea but also something they could've tried at HQ) and the actress Sophie Cookson bites her thumb after he's in the tube. WHAT?! Was that really necessary to show? Wasn't their painful dialogue enough for the audience to know the idea is dumb and she's nervous? *rolling my eyes* Scenes like those make this movie painful to watch. Personally the only actor who did amazing was Chiwetel Ejiofor. He was truly dialed into the harbinger of death persona even if the plot holes were glaring. This action sci-fi movie could have been great if the studio had decided to use Dylan O'Brien as the main character, kept Chiwetel, and gotten rid of Sophie. She's completely irrelevant. Her role could have been taken by the weird Artisan, which they do at the end. And fix the damn plot holes! Anyway, I wouldn't recommend this movie at all unless you're willing laugh/yell/roll your eyes for 90 minutes.

First, I read some of the reviews on this show and the positive ones praising it as a "great whodunnit" show either didn't watch the show or are bots. There's no mystery here, no guessing, and no real reason to watch this incredibly boring show. Second, my review is based on suffering through the 1st episode and about 5 minutes of the second episode. This is the worst show I've seen so far. It's similar to Lifetime movie but with "murder mystery" aspect to it. The acting is just horrible. I'm actually surprised with James Cromwell's acting in this because I would've classified him as a fairly decent actor but in this he's bad. Could be the script but the other actors are equally as bad, if not worst. The leading lady, Kristin Kreuk, is terrible. Couldn't decide if she's over-acting and trying to make do with a sh-ty script or if she's like f-it I need to keep my insurance and acting card so I'll do the bare minimum. There's absolutely no chemistry between her and police detective played by Rossif Sutherland, who is also terrible. I was not aware Donald Sutherland had another son and only familiar with Kiefer Sutherland's work. Clearly, Rossif did not get any acting tips from dad or big brother because like I mentioned before, he's terrible in this. Dude sounds like he has cotton in his mouth. He's trying to come off as an aloof, brooding, genius cop but it doesn't land at all. He reminds me of David Caruso in CSI Miami. If you've ever tried watching that show you know David can't act and relies on the writers and editing team to make him passable. I would venture to say the same thing is happening here with all the actors involved. Anyway, I could go on and on about this show but suffice to say it sucks. Zero stars. Don't recommend. And again, my rating is based on the first episode and a few minutes into the second. I turned it off after watching the leading lady trying to talk her boyfriend cop into going to a prom dance with her while sitting in his lap. The whole scene felt wooden and they presumably just had sex! I was done. Usually I try to give shows a few episodes to find their footing but I can't with this one. I'd rather watch paint dry than suffer through another episode.

Don't understand all the good reviews on this film. I thought it was terrible. The only redeeming quality was Angie Harmon's acting. She carried this film and did her best with this poor script. Everything else was garbage; the cliche storyline, the woodenness acting of the support characters, no character development, predictable story development, and the endless shots of Jordon Hinson confused look. She's a terrible actress, in my opinion. Most of them were. Can't believe this film was green light. Seriously felt like I was watching a small budget Lifetime movie. Terrible movie.

I watched this movie twice in the theaters and many times since then. I love it so much and don't get bored of it. I was initially drawn to it because of Viola Davis. She's amazing! But the rest of the cast is amazing as well. Izogie (played by Lashana Lynch) and Amenza (played by Sheila Atim) are two of my favorite supporting characters. One of the main reasons I love this film, besides the fact it's a great film, is the fact it's a story about a part of Africa's history played by African actors who desire to bring to light this time period. Worth watching several times! One last thing- for those reviewers who give this movie 1 or 2 stars bc it isn't "historically accurate", did you confuse it for a documentary? It's a MOVIE, not a doc (and even those are not 100% accurate) so stop your nonsense.

I enjoy psychological thriller movies which keep you on the edge of you seat. This film is it. You do have to look past the female actors lack of acting abilities, which is bad at times. Found myself rolling my eyes at the idiotic lines and dumb actions they take several times. John Cusack and Ray Liotta make this film worth watching. Wished they would have just had the male actors bc the four females were not necessary. Overall, recommend this film.
