I didn't know what to expect when I started watching this movie, but by the end I quite liked it. No, it isn't a cute family movie at all, it's all based on a true story. I found the storyline quite good and I found the characters and their development alright although I found that towards the end of the movie the characters sort of just changed to fit the ending, but maybe because it's based on a true story and that's just how things that happened across a few years fitted into a less than 2h movie. Either way, I did like it and I found myself educated on the Minamata disease by the end of the movie. I'd recommend it to people that haven't heard of the disease, but I wouldn't want to what it for a second time for at least a decade because it's not the type of film I'd need to see again.
