Reminds me of when Einstein first produced his Theory of Relativity a large number of German physicists released a statement denouncing it. Einstein replied that it would only take one scientist to disprove his theory if it was wrong, rather than a large number of dissenters without proof. Similarly here, the rather intriguing findings of Dan Everett regarding the nature of human language has trodden on lots of toes. However, dissenters have not even given his ideas a chance to be disproved scientifically, instead seemingly reacting with religious fervor to his challenging ideas.
