Honest Review: DO NOT BUY!
If you are a casual gamer looking for a interactive story book, this game is perfect for you. But if you’re like me looking for a game with great story as well as gameplay you should take a hard pass on this game.
Caution Spoilers...
I bought this game with a PlayStation gift card that I received for my birthday, expecting the great reviews to live up to their name and hoping for a great experience. It was anything but that, as soon as I loaded up the game it felt a little weird, you got into the game on a fairy to an island and there was no clear path on where you should go. After about 10 minutes of looking around and mashing buttons I found that you have to look down and use the right trigger to turn the pages of the book, a very weird setup for any game. Then you got into the forest road, this is when I started to change my mind on if this game is good or not, I was intrigued by the fresh story that felt new. Once you’ve walked up the driveway and got into the house it had an eerie feeling making you wonder what will come next. After exploring the house for a bit and getting small glimpses into the family members lives I got into the first story, this is when it got worse. You turn into a cat and have no idea why, yet again there are no pointers to where you need to go. I spent some time chasing after the bird and it felt like it had been hours, once you catch it you turn into another animal and another, and another. At this point it has maybe been 6 minutes but it felt like forever and the more that you progress through the game, the more you lose hope and get tired of the formula it uses to keep you engaged. In my opinion it would make a great book or movie but it was an absolute flop as a game.
