I wonder what level of boredom made me sit through this. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the premise, what's not to like, family of ninjas coming back together after a traumatic loss to fight a rival clan. But it all went South too quick with Karen's annoying ill-thought investigation, Gaku (the dead son)'s comeback. And then it kept spiralling, Haru became the most indecisive 'hero', Nagi was unbearable to watch when she went from an impressive practical headed sleuth to a naive whiny crybaby. I wanted to break my screen everytime she said "Gaku-nii", all to find out that all that initial build up of her being a good Shinobi was for nothing, she was absolutely useless when it came to a real fight to protect her family The parents were good with what they were given to work with. The grandma was the only true Shinobi and everyone else is just here for the ride. The characters on the Fuma side were much better although dumb plotlines did not spare them either. Don't get me started on the cops, I could only spew poison for that caricaturish disaster. Overall, they are a House of Annoying Dumb Ninjas who need a deuce ex Machina to save them in the most important fight, I wonder why we ever root for them anyway. Give me a show with just the Grandma and her cat please!!

I love the show in bits and pieces. The outlay and concept is very well put together. The character development is marvelous. You see a holistic view into the lives of the main characters and that's very well done. I have one particular qualm, at the sheer lack of research on something so pivotal in the show. One of the leads, Karan is gay and also gets arrested under IPC Section 377. However that has been repeatedly mentioned as "Article 377" (which is used for articles in Constitution). There's just one scene among the many mentions, where a journalist correctly refers to as Section 377 and we don't even get a shot of him, just a question from the back of the mob. Albeit, it's a minute detail but an extremely important one when you are talking about the LGBTQ+ rights so strongly in the show. What shocked me was that it missed Zoya's attention!! She's usually brilliant in her direction.
