A perfect guided reading adventure for 3rd through 5th grade. This historical fiction narrative moved quickly along and added realism to a time in U.S. history when the children of our country were asked to play an important part. In the upper elementary grades, the text served to reinforce the historical facts in identifying: people, places and numbers (statistics) through the acquisition and erection of Lady Liberty.
