This is the Star Wars we haven wanted for years. It nails everything, from the look to the action. It's true star wars through and through.

Its a drama thriller from true life, the Apharteid era of south africa , anc and white political supporters, going to prison for equal rights. while there they are fed up with the prison system and tries to make a way to escape. how and when its done i shall not spoil. but if your in for a session of silver screen watching, accompanied with a lot of stretching, hyperventilating, stress and a whole lot of sweat then you are in for it in this flick. the acting are good, the filmographic efforts combined with excellent light and sound work, together with a serious set of score make it all even better. why not 10, well i think the makers portrays the prisoners environment a bit smoother and humane than it was in the true life, and i think the introduction to the main cast is a bit slow and weak. so its not a perfect film, even though the grumpy old man had a good time.a recommend.

This show is absolutely amazing. In all the series I have watched this just goes above and beyond. The script writing, costumes, sets, actors and actresses etc. are all incredible. It sucks you in and makes you feel emotional and happy but also tugs on your heartstrings in a way that isn’t too heavy but it’s definitely effective. If I could watch this show forever I definitely not be disappointed. Season 2 was just as incredible as season 1 and if I’m being honest it had so much more depth and it was so captivating and touching and funny, I could just go on forever. I absolutely recommend it!!! Can’t wait for season 3!!

Outstanding in every possible way. Terrifying depiction of how the first impulse of authoritarian governments faced with disaster is to cover up and lie as much as they can for as long as they can. Superb acting from EVERYBODY from the starring roles to single line/single scene moments. Masterful direction recreates the bleak atmosphere and truly gives you the sense of being there--in the dreary homes and offices; in the dark and dangerous tunnels filled with contaminated air and water; in the meetings where lies are rewarded and truth is punished; in the hospitals where the suffering is unimaginable; on the city streets and rural roads where innocent people walk and laugh and breathe with no idea that death is all around them. And it has the eeriest most gut-wrenching score I have ever heard in any movie or television or theatrical production anywhere (Hildur Guðnadóttir is a genius). It's so good that I have watched it multiple times even though it tears my heart out and fills me with despair to know how it ends. There is powerful inspiration in the people who do make an effort to speak truth. There is bittersweet nobility in the everyday heroism of the people who willingly sacrificed themselves to save the country they love (and frankly to save the whole world), all the while knowing the leadership of their country does not love them back. Watching it is good preparation for what resistance will look like if things keep heading in the fake news/autocratic direction we are headed in now I am almost never at a loss for words but I simply do not have enough superlatives for the all-around excellence of this mini-series. It deserved every award it got and should have gotten all the awards it didn't get. Deserves ten stars out of five. Was this review helpful to you?
