Is it an ok stupid holiday movie just to have on in the background while wrapping presents or something? Sure. I’d go elsewhere if you want an actual good movie experience though. A lot of predictable kid friendly humor, but I won’t hate it for that. What mostly gets me is the whole premise of the movie. They had a legitimate reason to want to “skip” Christmas, yet their entire town sought to make an example of them for not doing things the way THEY wanted it done. Even if they didn’t have a good reason, it’s no ones place to try to force anyone to celebrate any holiday. Especially when they are resorting to harassment, bullying, and borderline assault. I’m convinced their whole neighborhood was some weird blood in blood out Christmas cult. What really gets me is it’s played out the entire time as if they were in the wrong for choosing how they wanted to spend their holiday, I would have to move out of that neighborhood quick.
