OK. Is anyone else wondering why our villain is named for Charles Dodgson (AKA Lewis Carroll), the author of Alice in Wonderland? I might have called it a coincidence if his first name wasn't LEWIS! He's been around since the first film "Dodgson! We got Dodgson here!" And always up to no good. Incidentally, Campbell Scott was terrific in the role! His folks would be proud.

Good buildup, but I found myself looking for all kinds of possibilities. Was the killer the former girlfriend who had been dumped for Michelle? Or maybe a dark-comic ending with the killer (the homeowner) roaring "I said NO PETS!" That would have been fun!

One of my all-time favorites. One of the few...maybe the only...war film that could be described as "charming". Wonderful writing and acting (my heart belongs to Liam Devlin - Higgins brought him back in two other novels - in one of them he's 85 years old, but the young heroine's first impression is "What a wonderful man!".) And first-rate directing by John Sturges, who also gave us "The Magnificent Seven.". This is one of those films I watch at least once a year. "We have known the days."
