First, as a big Gaffigan fan, hats off for developing this character & taking on a role of a very messed up man. For me, it's the writing that's the issue. There wasn't enough "need" established for him to go this far. Obviously this kingpin was going to pay him well that night either way so it should be enough for him to cover his alimony. Second, he loses his computer job & fakes wanting to commit suicude to get his job back??? Huh? That is really weak. Give him more motive than that to be this nuts & this desperate. And for everyone who is upset that he didn't get caught... have no fear! He left a super easy trail pointing back to him & they will find the kid. His prints are all over the room, he has all this extra income he can't claim or explain hiw he's paying alimony. Getting thrown down in a pyscho rage in the front yard got him no closer to seeing his kid. In conclusion, good job actors & actresses & I'm so sorry you had such poor writing throughout. For instance, why on Earth would the kingpins beautiful wife like all those ugly guys run a train on her when he husband kills dudes without even blinking. He loves her & is way more handsome then all of them. Just such bad writing & so many areas where this movie could have been so much stronger & way more intense. Only the acting kept this thing alive.
