One of the worst films I have ever seen. As student of history, I was bored and angry it deliberately avoided any factual or historical context. Having read an interview with the Director I realise it was his deliberate and proud aim that the film avoided these specifics and centred on the universal aspect of "survival". OK, so the film should be called that, and I would not have bothered to go. A young generation seeing this film will have no idea of the monumental importance or significance of this episode of WW2. Terrible wasted opportunity. Any 1 minute newsreel from those times is much more interesting and informative.
