Holly Smith – Google

A great movie which really plays on real life. It's not what it seems, certainly not what I thought after seeing the trailer! The trigger warning was needed as it was pretty disturbing. My interpretation of this movie is that it's speaking to society. Where men are controlling and think they're superior. Where men use and abuse women and inflict violence as they wish. It's a very real reflection of the society we live in. What I loved what the twist where the women took back control. And I obviously liked Channing Tatum's acting as well. It's high time violence against women and girls came to an end and the men were held to account. Well done to the team on this movie which was indeed, a psychological thriller!

I liked the first 3/4 of the film but then it went downhill. The ending had such potential. SPOILER. The two leads survive and walking down the road the other guy pulls up in his car causing confusion. At that point the other characters who'd been killed should have arrived and they all realise they died. That's just one possible alternative because the one in the final film was pretty shit. This is another example of a decent movie with a shit ending which the producers, writers, and director rush through to close out the movie. Shame.

A massive bravo to Anna on her directorial debut and to those involved with this film. I am a big true crime fan and watch with ease but this movie gave me anxiety. The story and delivery were perfection. The actor who played the killer was able to perform in a way which was felt through the screen. Literally seeing him switch in that single moment of time, before committing the crime. Well done to that actor, seriously. I imagine that's hard to do but it was unbelievable. This movie showcases a time when women didn't have a strong voice and were victimised often without consequence. And we are here in 2024 where the message rings true as violence against women is on the rise. In the UK alone a woman is killed every three days by a man. Very poignant. Brilliant film, 5/5.

In true Apple style, another superb show. The story, based on a true story, is a bit difficult to take at points, particularly as a woman. I appreciated in episode 5 that they gave one of the victims a voice and focus as opposed to glamourising a serial killer by even making the show. The way the story was told and the acting was sensational. Six episodes was a perfect length, particularly as they were long episodes.

The trailer wasn't overly exciting and we dismissed watching Severance for a while. Boy was that a mistake! Just finished season one and yes, it was a slow burner. You have to give it a few episodes and then - the questions start and so does wondering what's going on and what will happen next. The season finale was honestly amazing and the show overall was, in true Apple style, exceptional. The story, the acting, the imagination, and the production quality, all sublimely superb. Cannot wait for season two in January!!!

Saw this movie today and really enjoyed it! Josh Hartnett is not only (still) a massive heart-throb but he is a great actor as well. The movie and story were great, and entertaining! The only thing that let this movie down was the acting of "Lady Raven". I understand she's related to M. Night Shyamalan but if this role had of been cast with a stronger actor, it would have been 5 stars as the acting of that role wasn't believable and let the film down.
