Although I loved the characters of Jarret and Lexington, I had a hard time slogging through the book. It was overwritten (so many adjectives! )
Too many characters, many of whom were not integral to the plot.
Way too much back story regarding secondary characters.
The book could have been 100 pages shorter and been much more effective.
Also, the ending was a a total cop out.

Best book on “race” I’ve read.
Not preachy. Just the facts, which speak for themselves
Riveting and well written.
(A little little long on some of the analogies)

Alll charctes are 2D cut-outs, except Diana.
Too many throw up scenes (after one, we get it)
The ghost sequences are silly.
Only reaon I gave it 2 stars is i enjoyed the period fashion (80s) and it was beautifully shot
