Honestly, I think that this movie was beautifully done. It was nice to see a more raw look at res life than you might see in some other movies. Sadly, this is a reality for a lot of people.
Obviously not EVERY res and EVERY indigenous person is like this, but it is a very real, raw, and honest look at the res.
I found this movie to be very refreshing since instead of pushing the narrative that life is all sunshine and rainbows on the res, like "hey i know we stole your land, stole your children, and stole your culture....BUT we gave them *gameshow announcer voice* ALL. THIS. LAND! all for them! LOOK we even gave them schools!"
i believe we ignore poverty far too much, cause "outta sight, outta mind"
I see some people leaving nasty reviews
and asking/saying things like "where are the responsible adults?", "i can see why they go missing or kill themselves", etc.
when you're not white, middle class to uppper class, etc. life isn't as easy. my mom had to work 3 jobs to support me and my sisters as a single mom. poor people have to work. generally minimum wage jobs that overwork and underpay them.
tbh the second comment i said is really just out of line for people to posting as well.
life isn't easy for everybody.
a lot of us have to work ourselves to the bone JUST to survive.
I went off on a rant and i didn't mean to.
But anyways, this movie is amazing. All the actors did an absolutely phenomenal job. The story itself was very well written and the movie was excellently shot. If i could give it a higher rating, i would.
