***Spoilers: I give this movie a 3/10 tops. It really was a let down and just overall depressing. The music, acting, and cinematography was outstanding that’s the only reason for a 3. In terms of the plot and story this was just hot garbage. Like what was the point? What was the message? What I got from the movie is that life sucks and it’s unfair. A typical story is told with the exposition, then rising action, then climax, then falling action, then resolution. This movie was written with this format: Exposition, rising action, climax, exposition, hot garbage. No falling action and no resolution. Tyler was done so wrong and his story was very intriguing and there was potential for a very relatable and great plot for a struggling high school kid trying to find his way in the world through different adversities. Instead, the writers threw that all away, randomly killed the dudes girlfriend even though all he did was hit her back once and she fell and died that easily? Cmon now bruh how does anyone say they actually enjoyed this movie. Everything went south from there. The story was not intriguing anymore. No one cared about the sister from the start since she felt like a side character, we saw the sister for a total of maybe 5 minutes of screen time within the first half, and then all of a sudden the whole second half of the movie was about her and some random white dude that she meets. I should’ve turned the movie off after Tyler went the prison because I had a feeling the movie was going nowhere. I recommend you not waste your time on this dumpster fire because it just leaves you feeling hopeless and like you wasted two hours of your life.
