The talented Mr Ripley is one of my all time favourite movies! So when I saw a new series out I thought I would give it a go, even though Im not usually keen on watching remakes of films I enjoy! Firstly the B&W I get the idea behind it as it is a dark theme throughout but thought it was unnecessary. Secondly the casting was so wrong! Absolutely no chemistry what so ever, I do like Andrew Scott as an actor but this did not do him any justice! Dull and boring! Dickie is meant to be charming and a bit cocky/ arrogant! He was far from it! And Marge was just horrendous! Don’t get me started on the pathetic Freddie miles woman! Again just a boring character! I must admit when I watch series or remakes of movies that I love It is hard to not be biased, however the Minghella movie was vibrant, humorous in parts and serious in others! With sinister music and fantastic characters who bounced well off eachother!
