So far so good at 3 episodes in. The violence towards animals is off putting to me but that’s just an area of sensitivity to me and I get that they are showing characters complete disregard toward life. The political correctness of having black people at court is weird but they don’t make an issue of it so it works. But all the revisionist history and equality is a bit silly. The cast is really great. I wasn’t a Fanning fan mostly because she usually just gushes and smiles and I’ll never get over her sister stinking up War of the Worlds. But she is really great in this. I see her in a whole new light and am really enjoying her as Catherine. Really wonderful period piece with bits of real and bits of made up. Great story telling. Great acting.
