Heard about the movie back ages ago, and was dubious. Saw the trailers and became hopeful theyd capture everything that made the original so magical. Saw the movie and am far beyond disappointed with the poor script, the not-at-all-Mary-Poppins-behavior, mediocre music that drew a lot on the previous movie's nostalgia rather than creating its own magic, and a terrible script that basically reprised every aspect of the old movie almost literally scene for scene. They threw in a few hail marys to not lose the adult audience they knew theyd let down by showing off Dick van Dyke dancing and Angela Lansbury (two huge Disney actors back in the day.) I could go on, but I won't. It was just that bad. 1/5 wouldn't see again.
