Honestly I disagree with a lot of these low star reviews.
Mario Party: The Top 100 is actually a pretty good game, although it isn’t perfect and has some flaws it’s a game that can be so much fun and I would actually recommend buying it if you like having a ton of mini games and freedom of choice on what to do.
Mini game island is a very fun game mode, it gives you incentive to play more and so you can complete it. To add on, it allows you to experience each mini game which is also quite nice. And I can’t stress this enough, the fact that you unlock the mini games allows you to continue playing the game and having more fun. If you start with all the mini games then it’s just a missed opportunity to play the game more, which is another reason mini game island is good.
It is also nice that this game does support local multiplayer, although not that handy nowadays it’s still there.
Another thing that’s great is that the game has a decent minigame collection. If you are not a try hard Mario Party fan this game is way more enjoyable, a lot of mini games are quite fun. Not all of them are good, no Mario Party will have it like that, but it’s still decent and you can still have LOTS of fun with it.
Now there are a couple of flaws, the fact that there is only one board to play on and it’s rather short, that’s a missed opportunity. 2 or maybe even 3 would work but 1 mega short one isn’t ideal. It does work though and it’s a decent board design.
Another flaw is the fact that you might just stop playing the game after you have done everything. There is a decent amount to do but like all games you might stop, this is crucial with a Mario Party game. Replaying Mario Party is a essential part of all the games. And unfortunately this lacks some replay ability to the game, it has some just not as much as other options.
Overall if you are not a mega try hard Mario Party fan, then this game is amazing, it might be lack lustre to a lot of people but looking at the game in a different perspective of a more causal player makes this game a lot of fun and worthwhile to get. Mario Party Superstars looks promising, but the fact that you unlock all the mini games at the start is a bummer. Let’s see in the future what comes to this game and hope it’s better then all Mario Parties.
