Honestly it's fantastic. Such a great retelling, so much great additions, the music, the enhanced character depths, the enhanced relationships with each other. The game play is superb. The game is huge and somehow square enix manages to make it better and Better as you proceed. It's honesty surprising considering their game quality the last 10-15 years. If this is how they are making games going forward, I am so excited for what else they bring (especially the last part of this trilogy)

Fantastic writing, wonderful story and storytelling, I loved how the mainline scenes were directed from a cinematography point of view, loveable characters that got me to care about them, a mature and sensible development of love interests, beautiful design, very fun battle mechanics, the music is amazing. The voice acting captured the essence of the characters and got me to care for them (especially Clive, Cid, Joshua, Gav, Mid, Jill, Benedicta, Dion. Annabella got me to hate her, so good job!) The 4/5 stars is because some parts of the pacing really slowed down and took the wind out of the sails, some side missions were pointless/boring and their associated conversations were purely skippable without missing anything important. Also for a PS5 game there was a decent amount of poor framerates which made no sense. Also loot was basically pointless. The lack of status effects was missed, but not horrible for me. At the end of it all, it's a beautiful tale in a beautiful world with fantastic world building. I'd give it a 8.75/10 overall, but my enjoyment of the story/characters/battle was a 9.5/10.

You can feel that the team here cares an incredible amount in every detail of this series. The absolute brilliant storytelling, the magnificent writing of the characters and script, the art direction, the music, the vocie acting, the EDITING, just wow. All phenomenal. What a sad and tragic story. The writers REALLY understand mental trauma and are creative in the ways they present it on screen. Riot was hitting every note here and I look forward to season 2.

Started off interesting but over time it became very clear that their methodology was strongly lacking. There was almost no attempt to control for serious variables that could affect the outcome, and it almost seemed like they were trying to draw the conclusions they wanted out of the results. Couldn't take the results serious after that point. The hosts were...trying to be funny, but failed most of the time.

Wonderful follow up to the classic original. Understandably it took a risky direction with the story but I have to say I enjoyed it. Making me play the 'bad guy' and empathizing with her, growing to understand her and her motivations, was hard but a good lesson to learn about perspective. The 'bad guy' isn't always simply the 'bad guy'. Gameplay was fun, the atmosphere and sound design was incredible. I got actually physically scared several times (stupid stalkers!) where my hairs rose on my arms and back. The ending, although lacking the 'punch' I may have wanted at the beginning of the game, was understandably appropriate, albeit not what the vengeful part of me would've wanted to see. Thank you for the thoughtful considerations in making the game.

Brilliant re-imagining of the game. Best combat system, I had so much enjoyment in playing it, learning the combos, playing with materia, etc. THE MUSIC - enough said. The VAs knocked it out of the part. Absolutely stunning performance. The attention to detail, the callbacks to the originals, the fleshing out of lovely parts we didn't get to see before. Just an all around amazing job by Square Enix and I can't wait for the next one.
