I'm hardly qualified to review this movie as I stumbled upon it on late tv in the middle/perhaps past the middle/ of the film. but I usually am not drawn into the older black & white films on TCM. This one grabbed my attention. I liked the setting in this hotel/a lot of drama and intrigue from the first few minutes, and so I was hooked to find out more about the relationships among the hotel guests. So much raw emotion. Interesting character study. I thought it was a 1940's movie. surprised to see that it was released the end of 1958. I was a young adult at that time, but not aware of this award-winning film. Wish I'd seen it from the beginning.
