I completely adored this film. Yes it has it's questionable moments like Blue Falcon dabbing and the mention of tinder and other social media references, but overall its a really good movie with a lot of heart. The animation is really great and it's a nice blend between modern day cgi and classic Hanna Barbera style. The cast did great. I was actually one of the people who weren't really on board with the recasting, not to mention that Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Grey Delise (Daphne) didn't even know they were recasted until the new cast was announced which really left a sour taste in my mouth. But I gotta say the new cast did excellent. As much as I would've prefered the original cast Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Gina Rodriguez and Will Forte did excellent with their spin on the iconic voices. And of course Frank Welker was great as Scooby as always. The story while not really your average Scooby plot is pretty good. It has a lot of good call backs to the old Scoobydoo series even including an upbeat remake of the iconic Scoobydoo theme song. There isn't only call backs to Scoobydoo though. There are tons of references to other Hanna Barbera properties thorugh out the film with even Hanna Barbera characters such as Blue Falcon and Dynomutt along with Captain Caveman and even one of the teen angels Dee Dee Skyes making appearances in major roles which Scoobydoo fans and even older Hanna Barbera fan will enjoy. I also like the whole futuristic approach the film is going for especially with Blue Falcon's ship, the Falcon Fury, in which the animation really gets to shine. The ending is also very touching and heart tugging and while I won't give anything away I think it's safe to say that you'll appreciate Shaggy and Scooby's friendship a whole lot more by the end of the film. This film is a definite watch for Scoobydoo fans such as myself and even Hanna Barbera fans in general who will love spotting out each easter egg, reference and cameo. If you're also parents stuck at home with the kids and if they (or you I won't judge after all I'm only 14) are even remotely interested in Scoobydoo this is a blast the entire family will enjoy. This isn't a perfect film but it is everything I could ever ask for in a Scoobydoo reboot.
