A beautiful story by Biplab Goswami, taut screenplay and witty dialogues by Sneha Desai, and competent direction by Kiran Rao, ably supported by a mostly unknown cast make this movie a refreshing, riveting, and to some extent, a fun watch. If clean cinema with a good storyline and "dil ko chu lene wala" acting is something you like, go watch this film before it leaves the cinema halls. You don't get to watch such an impressive story on the big screen often. Enjoy backing the underdogs silently as the story unfolds!

I'm binge watching it on Hotstar at present and though the first 2-3 episodes weren't that great, the show slowly grows on you and I'm just loving it now. How I wish I too had college friends like the members of the Dream Team and a mentor like Vardhan Suryavanshi! And it was a surprise to find Durjoy Datta wrote the script of this show (along with some others). I highly recommend this show, especially the episodes based on the college life as you'll relive many moments and feel like you're taking a walk down memory lane. Kudos to the entire cast and team of Sadda Haq!

The trailer created a high expectation but I was thoroughly disappointed after watching the film. True that the hype is bringing in the moolah and the crowd but when the content and execution is so pathetic, it won't be long before the crowds start thinning and the moolah disappears. What I didn't like? Quite a few things. For starters, you don't need the characters to speak Bengali (and wrong word choices at that) so much just to prove they are Bengali. It could have been portrayed through subtle things. The in-your-face cringey dialogues weren't needed. After the first 10-15 minutes, I wondered if I was watching a Hindi movie or a Bengali film. Second is Rani's character sketch that's weak and stupid. A BSC graduate is so shaky, can't speak coherent sentences in English, and acts like a lunatic every now and then is pretty hard to digest. Third is Jim Sarbh's character trajectory. A lawyer representing Norway and hell-bent on bringing the kids back suddenly undergoes a heart change and supports the mother? How? And why? There are many more such small and big things that mar the potential of this film. And thus a wide and deep chasm exists between what it could have become and what the film finally became. Sad and disappointing!

Anirban is a director to watch out for. This film's word-of-the-mouth publicity pulled me to the theatre and I'm glad I went. After a loooooong time, I enjoyed a Bengali film so much. A taut storyline with witty dialogues, a stellar cast, and a competent director make this a must-watch film. Don't miss watching the end credits. Most people stayed back to watch it and they had a bonus there and a few extras laughs as well. Kudos to Anirban and his team! And kudos to svf for bringing such a good film to the theatres and giving us something to root for in our mother tongue.
