I thought this book was a mystery; it is no such thing. I can't believe that it was endorsed by NY Times, and somebody else who doesn't matter. I kept reading because I thought it would get better; instead it got worse.(sometimes it doesn't pay to be an optimist...) I am only giving it a single star because Amazon is forcing me; it won't post this if it doesn't have a "star." It doesn't deserve even that.
This book is about pedophilia of young boys (even though it is a single boy that he narrates his history as an adult). I suppose this no good book is a cathartic tool for the author, by a deeply disturbed author. It wasn't in the section it belonged; When I bought it, it in the "mystery" section. If I had wanted to read somebody else's testimonial about their
bad life and his mother, which I certainly did not, I would not have chosen it
Spoiler alert: The mother abuses her son. yuck.
