When I was 14 I reached the height of 6ft 2 and I’ve remained this height I am now 16. This film offends me massively, it is upsetting and disheartens me. I know that the outcome is meant to be uplifting as she embraces her height and lives it but what I got from that film is A. Having children is going to be difficult and if I did have a child would they feel like this ? B. Unrealistic to want a tall guy C. Camera angles - they make her look so much taller than what she is and makes us tall people look like actual giants and finally it makes me feel alienated from my family as in this film they have such a difficult time accepting the fact that she is tall ?! Which is ridiculous because they make her it seem like she is “incorrect “ now take all this and how do they think I feel being taller than her (even if it is only but half an inch) ?????
