It's a miracle this show finally made it to production after a wait spanning most of my lifetime. I understand people's feelings regarding changes, but most (not all) of those complaints are unwarranted for 2 reasons: 1) mobody's nerfict: there's absolutely no way it can be redone and keep all the book fans happy. Some might argue that's untrue, but I guarantee if the show was made perfect to some people's liking, other's will hate how it's done for new reasons. 2: relevant complaints are wise for the production to here. Example? Star Trek Discovery. It started out as most egregious insult to the soul of Star Trek. It did. By the second season it clearly was trying to course-correct, and by season 3 it is now most definitely seems so much more true to Gene Roddenberry's vision.
So. Keep the complaints constructive, and pray/cross fingers/knock on wood/whatever that the show runner and product team has enough humility and intellect to make the same kind of adjustments to face and address the most problematic issues for the readers in a way that appeals to the new audience. They should look to how the series Lucifer was so loved and fought for by it's fanbase. We (bookfans) are a built in component that should be respected. We want to help, not see something with such enormous potential fade away. This is bigger than one person, team, or company. We fans no it's bigger than us collectively as well. It's important to recognize this as the important work of literature with a story the whole world can now love as much as we do. Or at least nearly as much. Thank you for taking the time to read.
