I got the book on Audible after seeing McConaughey in interviews, such as in the Joe Rogan podcast, Jordan Peterson, and Russel Brand. The immediate interest spurred from my admiration for him as an actor, but the secondary one came from an interest in the insight and backstory he could offer. I was not disappointed. One could lay on their back, eyes closed, and let his animated voice take you places. There is never a boring moment, though, as a 17-year-old, some words and concepts were a tad difficult to comprehend. The five-hour listen was done in two days, and I had many catch-phrases to remember by the end of it: Responsibility today, freedom tomorrow. Stay active, stay social -- the key to longevity. Want what you need and need what you want. There's many more. His life is an ongoing inspiration to literally chase your dreams and trust that your life will bear green lights if you have your best interest are heart. Great book, memorable book.
