Such mixed feelings about this film. The acting was fab - but the casting of Amy as a young teen was simply not believable. Deep, mature voice and she didn't grow into her role until the end. With four sisters, they should look SOMEWHAT alike and have some similarities in voice, tone etc. to be believable and this fell short in that regard. I also found the jumping from time period to time period, and dream to reality to be very distracting and confusing. I've read the book several times and was named for one of the characters and still had trouble following exactly the timeline.
In spite of all this, I did love the movie. The acting was passionate and the relationship between Jo and Amy was mesmerizing. It's a movie I would recommend - and even go see again. Maybe I'd be able to follow the time line better second time around.
