This movie is absolutely dreadful. While the pacing is fine and the cinematography is okay, the acting and overall message of the movie is complete and utter nonsense. The main character "Kit" is an unlikable brat/snob who thinks the whole world owes her something just because she doesn't feel "accepted" (kinda sounds like the actress playing her, wonder if Brie also likes to paint). She refuses to grow up and be an adult, which is represented by the fact that she still lives with her parents and refuses to get a decent job, and when she does, she blows it because of her immaturity. Samuel Jackson is alright, however I just feel bad that such a great actor was pulled into this mess. The message of the film is to ignore becoming an adult and GROWING UP AS BEFITS YOUR AGE and just act like a child your entire life. After all, welfare is there to help you out. Oh and also there is a unicorn in it, but that doesn't even matter because the point of the movie is to be true to yourself EVEN if that makes others miserable, and that you don't have to grow up, and that men, specifically white men, are always trying to put you down. I mean seriously the main"antagonists" (if you can even call them that) are both white men who probably pissed Bri- I mean "Kit" off by saying Wrinkle In Time was bad. Both the art teacher and the company boss are white men, can you see the message being displayed? Also I don't think Brie even had to act in this movie, she probably just had to act like herself and read her lines, however she did have to avoid saying "I am the strongest Avenger, I play Captain Marvel, I am best" through the whole film, since "Kit" and Brie are DEFINITELY NOT the same person. Anyways, this movie was horrible, I am not trying to be mean. As an actress I think Brie Larson is pretty good, I loves her in "Room." But as a person, as a director, as a ROLE MODEL, I think that she is just digging herself a deeper hole in the ground every time she opens her mouth. But anyways, this movie is bad, and I am glad that a lot of people have spoken out against it.
