Film Fan Dojo

I was expecting a totally different movie, but I was pleasantly surprised by this film! Jesse Eisenberg's performance was spot on and he was really convincing. The dark humor of the movie was very effective and Alessandro Nivola's performace as the Sensei was the highlight of the film! As a martial arts practitioner for a number of years, I could relate to how a teacher can make you feel invincible and helpless at the same time. If you like dry and dark humor along with a look into martial arts school culture (remember it is a movie so it is somewhat over the top) this is the film for you!

A very good end to the franchise. Danny Kwok's portrayal of Bruce Lee redeems the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood portrayal. There are plenty of fight scenes: Wing Chun va Tai Chi, Wing Chun vs Karate, Karate vs Praying Mantis, Bagua, Monkey and more. Yuen Wo Ping does an excellent job with the fight choreography, Wilson Yip's direction is more mature, Donnie Yen's subtle performance as an aging Ip Man is solid. A must see for kung fu movie fans!
