Repeatedly watching 2 people failing to conceive doesn't make for a good film.. well I suppose maybe it could if the script had depth but that is sadly lacking here. While I would have empathy for anyone failing with fertility treatment I didn't here because the characters were undeveloped and uninteresting, I felt little connection to them. There is zero chemistry between the main characters, partially down to some amateur acting and a threadbare script. All in all I'm wondering why it got the odd decent review, I found it totally boring.

Honestly I found it a little tedious and and boring. Having feminism rammed down my throat for 2 hours and having it dominate every part of the story got rather old quickly for me. I'd consider myself a feminist but I found it all a bit patronising, generally explained and delivered as you would to a child. Despite some good performances and it poking fun at itself very well, ultimately the story was very one dimensional.

One of the best and most emotionally absorbing things i've seen in a long time. So powerful and real you feel like you're living it, or at least reliving your own first love. The 2 leads are both out of this world, as are the rest of the actors. About as real, honest and perfect a drama as you're ever likely to see.

The simpletons seem to be out in force again giving positive reviews to what is an embarrassing film. I really like Chris Pratt but I found myself laughing at him, mainly due to the awful script he had to work with. The holes in the plot are gaping, the bit where he's talking about coming back to save his daughter?? What? He doesn't need to do that as he's about to go back and change the future with the serum she gives him. Did a child write this? So many tropes, totally unoriginal, ranks among the most pathetic and desperate film making attempts i've seen for a while.

If your mind is so simple as to be entertained by nothing but shooting and revenge film tropes then you'll love this. For the first half an hour you'll see our protagonist out for revenge against a chinese mafia style family, the next half hour you'll see the same, and the final half hour you'll see the same again.. you get the picture. Truly boring, mind numbing pile of rubbish, I might have known with the netflix stamp on it, 99 percent of their films are utterly awful.

This is one of those movies that is like walking into a restaurant and getting a bunch of raw ingredients on your plate, 'here, make something good out of that!' Well I'm sorry but there wasn't anywhere near enough of interest here to make me want to put the pieces of his past together and work out why he is what he is, I just didn't care. Long, drawn out scenes with little dialogue and shots lingering on pointless things for too long will do that to you. There's no debate Joaquin Phoenix is a good actor but that, and it being shot well don't make for a good movie if the rest of it resembles a barren desert. I don't have a problem with minimalist movies if they have something special about them; some atmosphere to get drawn into, this had very little of that, I found it very dull from beginning to end.

One of the worst films i've ever seen, nothing happens, europa is like a windows 10 background, all the camera shots are static due to them supposedly being from cctv footage. It makes for a very 2 dimensional film. 99 percent of the film is viewing the inside of a tiny space craft. I can only think most of the reviews here are from stooges because nobody can be so dumb as to think that is a good film.

Hey george guess what happens when you make a movie where you get to know some characters in the first act and then you virtually abandon them in the second (with only a tedious link between the two) for what could be a different film? You end up with a terrible film that's what. That's only the start of the films problems though. I mean it's quickly obvious that the 2nd act has nothing to say so they just fill time with a rock shower reminiscent of gravity where coincidentally george also stars. More time is filled when they get the violins out for an injured crewman who we met 5 minutes ago but apparently we're supposed to care enough to endure more drawn out scenes of sorrow, it's like a bad soap opera I swear. Near the end we see a flashback of his daughter looking around 5 or 6 being taken away from him, yet she has no memory or knowledge that he was her father?? I'm sorry why is this again... because he wasn't around much? So her mother never told her who her father was her whole life? Wow, that makes sense! We never even find out what happened to the earth because meh who cares that would take imagination which this movie never gets close to. Clooney looks like a disheveled old man who's lost his marbles in this film, I can only assume he actually has in real life if he can be involved in such an abortion of a movie.

If you just want to see a load of fight scenes with a plot so thin you're wondering what the point is then you'll love this. I mean it's even pretty short for a modern film but that didn't bother me as it was clear by the 3rd act that it had nothing about it. Ewan McGregor should not be allowed to do an american accent, I seem to remember suffering that in one of his previous movies. Margot Robbie is the only redeeming feature (hence 2 stars) as you'd expect with her being a class act. Virtually every other aspect of the film was beige.

I mean who cares what the ending was supposed to mean. No we don't always expect everything to be spoon fed to us but there has to be a balance struck, which there isn't here. 90 mins of watching people in a hopeless position with no twist, no clever way out.. the characters are non the wiser as to what's gone on before their demise, so they just want to die. How does that make for a film that has characters that you care about? The film is just void of any real thought or creativity and leaves you empty. The confirmation that these are aliens using humans doesn't matter, it's not in the least bit clever or interesting. Just like the matrix would be rubbish if neo never took either pill and just went home to dig a big hole outside his house (for no apparent reason) for an hour of your life instead. The acting is the only saving grace but it's nowhere near enough to warrant more than a star
