Watched this for the first time this year and was really disappointed. It used to be such a funny satirical programme. But Hyslop and Merton are now just predictable and boring.

Enjoyable as long as you don’t take it too seriously. The Detective Inspector plays his lovable old rogue very well but some of the acting is a bit naff. I had to laugh when the young “English” detective chases a lad on a moped through the streets and shows no sign of being out of breath or of sweating. But the cinematography is wonderful - makes it a visual treat. For light entertainment worth watching.
