Easily the most disappointing movie reboot of the 21st century. I’m shocked this many people have given it a 5 star rating. To those who truly love the Matrix trilogy: do yourself a favor and don’t subject yourself to this awful movie. This movie is bad, not just because the visuals and “feel” are completely different, but the movie has so many gaps and holes. They throw in old characters just for the throw back value (the frenchman), that fall off the plot and don’t make sense. The character arcs don’t make sense, the aspects of these characters that were completely paramount to who they were, are just gone. My biggest peeve about this installment: why the eff is Smith calling him Tom? Is he Voldemort now? Its been Mr Anderson since the first movie. This is just one small example of all the things this movie got so, so wrong.
