I'm honestly upset that I have to write this review because I absolutley love A7X, I've even seen them live a few times but wow... I can't stand this album, it is absolutely awful and completley unlistenable. I'm not sure what they were thinking here... the music is confusing and disorganized, with pretty much no smooth flow or transitions to different sections of the songs. The lyrics are the worst part. They are so out there and trying to be so progressive and strange that they don't even make sense, or are easy to process whatsoever. And the songs are so bland without strong lyrics that it just sounds like a confusing mess of musical ideas that don't work with each other, they are just totally off and chaotic.... the melodies just sounded... wrong, and some of them were upbeat but somehow disturbing, I couldn't even finish listening to all of the songs. I don't think many long time fans of A7X can get behind this one... they hardly sound like themselves, almost nothing left of the unique and interesting sound we all grew to love from them. The Stage was a phenomenal album because they did sound like themselves with some interesting progressive twists and they were absolutely distinguishing as A7X. I'm pretty certain the only people who will enjoy this are some weird people that somehow consider this disorganized and ill thought mess to be music. I'm also not just into rock and metal music, I have a wide taste in music and enjoy many genres, but I don't even know what to call this, but wow it's extremely disappointing coming from them and just honestly terrible...
