I sat down and watched this with my family, and I would strongly urge others to do the same. The struggle of Palestine is typically overlooked at best and severely misrepresented at worst. This film is eye-opening in bringing a first-hand perspective at this struggle. As a debut film of the director, this film is quite exemplary and daring in the way that it portrays the issue from a young girl who is about to enter sixth grade. What's most moving is how it gives a way for the audience to experience the issue at hand in 1948 Palestine. The torment, dehumanization, separation, and immorality at the core of this film are important and must be confronted in watching this film.
If you have not watched this film, please immediately go watch it, for it will likely be taken down in the near future given the ways in which media that sheds light on Palestine is often censored and taken down by the Israeli government.
I pray for those who have passed from this world and for those who currently and continually endure the injustices shown in the film -- I pray for freedom and justice. Bravo to the director and entire team on portraying these injustices.
