A slow paced movie that is appropriate for all age groups, sets one thinking about certain important cultural aspects of Tamilians that have been ignored forever now!
The movie about how two men @karthi_offl and @thearvindswami who have a forgotten past meet to bond having a great conversation around trivial matters that have turned unimportant to most of us today.
We sure have encountered experiences of wealth partitioning breaking families and relationships. That scenario of every household has been handled in the movie while waking us up to the simple fact that we need not necessarily hate our roots just because a handful of people have been unfair to us. It sets us thinking that we might actually be moving away from our roots in the name of moving away from bitter experiences.
It also captures the emotions of how banning Jallikattu has affected people who were involved in the same. A dimension most of us might not be aware of.
As a mother teaching my son history, it did ring bells when Karthi points out in a scene that there is no point in our children studying about the Battle of Panipet when they do not even know how capable our ancestors like velunaachiyar were. Something I haven’t really thought about until it was spoken!
Certain scenes were a bit lengthy, but that’s only because they have taken a humble attempt to imbibe some values and long forgotten thoughts and emotions into the movie!
If we can appreciate an adios amigos of Malayalam, we can definitely take the heart to appreciate meiyazhagan, a movie that’s made like one of those breezy Malayalam flicks that we all go gaga about!
I would recommend any of you adults here to take your parents along to watch this movie coz they might be able to resonate well. I watched it with my mother and son and the three of us found it a heart warming experience. There are scenes where my eleven year old got a bit bored of but the sudden quirky humour Karthi effortlessly throws breaks the monotony at most scenes!
@actorsuriya @jyotika - Thank you for making such brilliant movies that isn’t vulgar, blood and lust in the name of love and action!🙏
