Bravo 👏🏾 for Tiago and Vovo! What a great story for all children to connect with! After the read aloud my students had a grand conversation where two of my EL students shared their connection with Tiagu through their experiences of learning to speak English. Another student shared her experiences of leaning to read English and starting a new school this year and how scared she was on the first day. My Native English speaking students had lots of great ideas about labeling things around the building for other students that are new to the school and/or learning English for next school year. What an amazing, engaging read aloud book!
